Meet Magdalena

 Magdalena Lopez, is a registered psychologist and former AHPRA approved supervisor working in private practice on St Kilda Road, in Melbourne. She has been working in the mental health field for the past 18 years.

As your therapist, she aims to help you find ways to improve the way you feel about yourself and with others around you. She provides a comforting, non judgmental space for you to express your concerns.  

More than just a listening ear, Magdalena assists individuals, couples and families discover new perspectives, identify the source of the challenges you’re facing, and equip you with the resources you need to overcome these.

Style of Therapy

Over the years Magdalena has developed a strong interest in working with people who are eager to engage in counselling for short and long term work and who are challenged by more in-depth views of themselves and their relationships.

Magdalena's style is predominantly Psychodynamic, which means working with you in trying to understand the causes of your inner conflicts in a careful way so you can deal with your feelings and thoughts calmly, (you can read more here). This helps you find relief, freedom and a sense of empowerment, ultimately feel happier with yourself and those around you


Background and Experience

Magdalena began her career as a Psychologist in 2002. She has vast knowledge of general health and mental health specializing over the years in Anxiety Disorders, Depression and Relationship Disorders. 

Her Psychology training has been in Adults, Couples and Families. Magdalena has worked for multiple public and private mental health services throughout her career both in Australia and overseas and currently services the community via her private practice on St Kilda Road.

After years of experience, Magdalena has also obtained ackowledgement from AHPRA and the A.P.S to provide Supervision to Provisional psychologists. Magdalena has been closely associated with many medical centres in Melbourne in supporting their work
